Our Story: From Failing Practices to a Movement

How It Started

In December 2016, we made what many called a risky decision: we acquired our first failing chiropractic practice. The previous owner was closing the doors. Patients were leaving. The community had lost faith in that location.

By January 2017, we made it profitable.

Not through gimmicks or shortcuts, but through principled chiropractic care, smart business systems, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. We did it again with a second failing practice. And again. Today, those once-struggling clinics are thriving wellness centers generating multimillion dollars annually across multiple Colorado Springs locations, sticking to hands-on chiropractic as our core.

But here’s what we learned along the way: Most chiropractors are incredible doctors who never learned how to run a business.

Chiropractic school taught us how to adjust. It taught us philosophy and technique. But it never taught us how to negotiate a practice purchase without getting taken advantage of. How to hire and lead a team. How to market ethically and fill a schedule. How to make payroll while maintaining work-life balance. How to handle insurance billing without losing your mind or your money.

We learned those lessons the hard way—through trial, error, investment, and relentless determination.

Why We Do This

After turning around our practices, something unexpected happened. Other chiropractors started asking for help.

“How did you do it?”

“Can you look at my numbers?”

“Will you train my staff?”

At first, it was informal—helping friends and colleagues navigate the same challenges we’d faced. But as we consulted, trained, and managed more and more chiropractors, we discovered something profound: they were all missing the same thing. Every single one of them was an incredible doctor with great hands and deep philosophy. But chiropractic school had never taught them business.

They didn’t know how to read a P&L statement. How to hire the right people. How to create systems that ran without them. How to market ethically. How to negotiate a lease. How to set profitable fees while staying principled.

We quickly realized this wasn’t just about helping a few friends. This was about elevating the entire profession.

For the last century, chiropractors have been looked down upon by much of the medical community. We believe that changes when principled chiropractors run professional, successful practices that serve their communities with excellence. When you practice at the highest level—clinically AND business-wise—you don’t just change your patients’ perception. You change how other healthcare professionals view chiropractic.

Here’s what that looks like in practice: When Dr. Seth refers patients for surgery or specialty care, those patients literally tell the surgeon, “I’ll have to run that by Dr. Seth and let you know…” The surgeon—who spent years in medical school—watches patients defer to their chiropractor’s judgment. That’s the kind of respect and trust we’re building. That’s what happens when you position yourself as their primary provider, not just an alternative.

That’s when TOR Leadership Collective was born.

The Name: TOR

TOR comes from the Latin word for “pinnacle.” We believe chiropractors should stand at the pinnacle of healthcare—not as an alternative, but as the primary choice for families seeking wellness.

Getting there requires more than great adjusting skills. It requires business acumen, leadership ability, and proven systems that work.

In that order.

This isn’t just a tagline—it’s how we live and work every day. We believe you can build a thriving, profitable practice without sacrificing your values, your family time, or your chiropractic principles.
